Hosted by lifelong friends Joan and Damien, who bring together two very different perspectives on the Bible, faith, and spirituality.

In this series, Joan gives Damien a passage from the Bible to read each week, and they talk it through. Joan brings depth and insight; Damien brings curiosity and wonder. The result? Honest, thought-provoking conversations about faith, meaning, and life itself.

A place to untangle stories from the Christian Scriptures.

Joan and Damien grew up next door to each other in Melbourne’s inner north. Fifty years later, they’re still great mates and now they’re sitting down to chat about all things deep and meaningful.

Joan has lived and breathed the Bible for decades. She grew up on its stories, became a Uniting Church Minister, studied with biblical scholars, preached sermons, and has spent years immersed in theological reflection.

Damien, on the other hand, has never read the Bible. With a background in IT, he carried a long-standing suspicion of religion. After a midlife shift, he retrained as a psychodynamic psychotherapist and now comes to the Bible with fresh eyes, curiosity, and a healthy dose of scepticism.

What if the most important stories were meant to be read with new eyes?

Seasoned or sceptical, faithful or just curious, there’s Something here for everyone who wants to explore the Bible through intersecting perspectives
